Building a deck will give you additional space, add to the value of your home and enhance the beauty quotient of your home. Decks provide you with much needed outdoor space for entertaining. It can be an excellent play area for children and you will appreciate having some extra space for some me time. The basic thing is to get it right when you build it. Not all decks can be used for all purposes, so it matters a lot that you have a clear idea of what you want from your deck before you build it or design it.
Evaluating a deck plan before you build will save you a lot of heartache later on. The first rule you need to remember is that the deck should fit your budget and serve your needs. It will help a lot if you can make a list of all the uses you will have for your deck. Do you plan on using it as an outdoor greenhouse or for entertaining? Will it be used frequently or not that often? Do you plan to set up a barbeque? What’s the weather like where you live? Will it be used as a place to meditate in the mornings? Think of every possible use for the space and list them all on paper. You now have the requirement that your deck needs to meet. You now need to build the design and pick a deck material around these needs.

Hi, Need a wood, floating deck of 20'x30' and a gangway that runs about 12' from dry land.... Also need a 21'x21' deck that will be 8' on dry land and the rest over water (this one is non-floating) We're looking for a nice wood finish that's not very expensive. Please call me to go over details. Thanks !
